What is Concrete?

Concrete is a material made from a mixture of several components: water, sand, gravel, and cement. Cement is a mixture of clay and limestone that allows the various components of concrete to bind together.

Old, crumbling and cracked concrete can therefore be cleaned, repaired, and restored. After the proper products and processes have been applied, the new concrete must then dry and cure for a minimum of 30 days to achieve a compressive strength of at least 3,625 pounds per square inch and a tensile strength of at least 218 pounds per square inch.

Polished Concrete Floor : Garage Floor with an Impeccable Finish

The finish of polished concrete gives your garage floors a remarkably clean appearance. Polished concrete can significantly enhance the look of your garage or basement, to the point where it looks as though someone has recently come in and cleaned for you.

In addition to being very easy to maintain, polished concrete will extend the life of your floors thanks to its high resistance to deterioration and the effects of time. It also protects your floor from corrosion, water infiltration, oil deposits, and other substances that can damage your garage floor.

Maintaining Your Polished Concrete Floor

Polished concrete is an easy-to-maintain surface compared to many other flooring surfaces that require stripping, waxing, and more. Although polished concrete floor coatings are durable and easy to maintain, they still require minimal maintenance to remove dirt and grime that can build up over time. The frequency of cleaning and maintenance will vary depending on traffic. If you have polished concrete flooring in your commercial space, it will require more frequent cleaning than if it were in the basement of a home.

When it comes time to clean your residential floor, you can clean polished concrete with water and a neutral-pH soap. It’s that simple! To clean a commercial, industrial, institutional, or agricultural floor, it is recommended to use an automatic floor scrubber, always using water and a neutral-pH soap. When cleaning your polished concrete floor coating, pay particular attention to ensuring that the cleaning solution does not dry on the surface.

For a floor that is easy to clean and resistant to wear, choose polished concrete! PolySurface experts travel throughout Montreal, Quebec City, Centre-du-Québec, Mauricie, Estrie, and Montérégie to install your polished concrete floor coating.
